My standard fee is $225 for a 50-minute therapy session. I do not work directly with insurance panels, but if you have a plan that allows you to select an out-of-network provider, you may be able to get reimbursement from your insurance carrier. In that case, I would provide you with a monthly statement to submit to your insurance company to seek reimbursement. I also set aside a portion of my practice for people in need of a lower fee. In this case, the fee is determined on a sliding scale based on one's financial situation.
Good Faith Estimate
You have the right to receive a “Good Faith Estimate” explaining how much your medical and mental health care will cost. Under a new 2022 law, health care providers need to give patients who don’t have insurance or who are not using insurance an estimate of the expected charges for medical services, including psychotherapy services. You can ask me, or any other provider you choose, for a Good Faith Estimate before you schedule a service. If you receive a bill that is at least $400 more than your Good Faith Estimate, you can dispute the bill. Make sure to save a copy or picture of your Good Faith Estimate. For questions or more information about the Good Faith Estimate program you can contact www.cms.gov/nosurprises.
